Scientific Name | Phylica amoena Pillans |
Higher Classification | Dicotyledons |
Family | RHAMNACEAE |
National Status |
Status and Criteria | Endangered B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v) |
Assessment Date | 2005/11/02 |
Assessor(s) | N.A. Helme, D. Raimondo & J.E. Victor |
Justification | EOO 300 km², AOO<300 km², five known locations continue to decline due to coastal development and alien plant invasion. Encroaching developments lead to habitat fragmentation and fire exclusion from remnants, a serious threat to this fire-dependent species. As phylicas are difficult to identify, this species is likely to be overlooked in EIA surveys. |
