Justification
EOO < 18 000 km², known from between 10 and 15 locations, subpopulations are severely fragmented. This species has lost at least 30 % of its former habitat to crop cultivation and urban development. It continues to decline due to alien plant invasion, vineyard and urban expansion.
Distribution

Western Cape
Range
Namaqualand (Toringberg) to Saldanha and inland to Ceres.

Threats
Habitat loss to crop cultivation is a severe past and moderate ongoing threat, particularly vineyard expansion in the Tulbagh area. It is also threatened by alien invasive encroachment and coastal development on the West Coast.
Population

Many subpopulations are small, consisting of less than 50 plants, but the subpopulation at Toringberg has about 500 plants and at Gouda there are at least 5 000 mature individuals.
