This subspecies has lost some habitat to crop cultivation in the Biedouw Valley in the past, but this represents only a small proportion of its habitat. Sporadic expansion of crop fields remains a potential threat, but is unlikely to rapidly cause this species to become in danger of extinction. |

This subspecies is locally common in the Biedouw Valley.
