Threats
The area where this subspecies occurs is only marginally suited to agriculture, and only a few, scattered crop fields currently exist within its habitat. Due to its very limited range, it is potentially threatened by habitat loss to sporadic expansion of crop fields. Parts of the Tanqua Karoo is degraded due to overstocking of livestock, and overgrazing is another potential threat to this subspecies.
