Justification
This species occurs at extremely low densities. Only 10 plants, occurring at a single site, are currently known, and these are vulnerable to too frequent fires.

South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape
Range
This species occurs in Wemmershoek Peak.
Habitat and Ecology

Major habitats
Hawequas Sandstone Fynbos
Description
Plants grow in deep, peaty soils on upper, south-facing sandstone slopes.
Threats
This species is a reseeder and low population numbers make it extremely vulnerable to too frequent fire. The only known location is also potentially threatened by alien plant invasion — scattered pines are already present at the site.
Population

This species is very rare, known from only 10 plants. Wemmershoek is fairly well explored. The fact that it has only been collected twice in the last 60 years and that only 10 plants could be found in recent searches indicates that this is a very rare and thus vulnerable species.
