Threats
Expanding Rooibos cultivation is a severe threat, extensive areas of habitat were transformed on the Bokkeveld Escarpment of Nieuwoudtville and on the Gifberg between 2000 and 2010. It is possibly also threatened by a lack of fire due to fragmentation of habitat - this is a myrmecochorous species that requires fire to regenerate.
