Known from one location, adjacent to a plantation, where its habitat is being degraded and number of individuals are declining due to a lack of fire.

Threats
Plantations were a past threat - a significant proportion of the habitat was lost to pine plantations, but the exact proportion is unknown. This species will only grow after a fire so altered fire regimes as a result of the site being adjacent to plantations is a serious threat. This is an ongoing threat that will cause a decline in the number of individuals (J. Vlok).
