Justification | This species is endemic to the Western Cape Province of South Africa occurring in arid renosterveld vegetation. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 8945 km² and is currently known from between 11 and 15 locations. It has lost 35% of its habitat over the past 200 years, (generation length over 100 years) and we suspect that there has been a resulting population decline of at least 30%. There is a continuing decline in this species' area, extent and/or quality of habitat due to crop cultivation, urban development and livestock overgrazing. It therefore qualifies for listing as Vulnerable under criterion A. |
