Its habitat is unknown.
Population

The species is known from only a few records, scattered over a very wide area. It however occurs in one of South Africa's botanically most poorly explored areas, and is highly likely to be overlooked, rather than rare or threatened. The type specimen is from an imprecise locality, which may be from Botswana.
