It is widely distributed across south-tropical Africa from Angola to Botswana and Zimbabwe into South Africa. In South Africa this species is found in the northern to eastern parts of South Africa, namely the North West, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces and some areas of KwaZulu-Natal from the highlands to near the coast.
