Threats |
There has been disturbance and destruction of many wetland ecosystems in the grasslands of the Highveld, particularly due to damming, drainage and channelling. Some wetland systems have been partially lost or disturbed due to the establishment of timber plantations and crop fields, and in disturbed areas alien invasive plants such as black wattles are spreading rapidly along streams and drainage lines. In spite of these threats, this species is still widespread and common, and it appears to be somewhat resilient to disturbance. |
