Justification
Serruria confragosa is a range-restricted endemic from the mountains of the Western Cape Province in South Africa, it has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 41 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 32 km². There are three subpopulations known but these are not declining as all occur in protected areas. It is is thus listed as a range restricted species and has the national category of Rare, it qualifies under the IUCN category of Least Concern.

This species is known from Koue Bokkeveld and Groot Winterhoek Mountains in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It occurs on rocky outcrops in sandstone fynbos. Mature individuals are killed by fires, and only seeds survive. Seeds are released after ripening, and dispersed by ants to their underground nests, where they are protected from predation and fire. It is pollinated by insects.
Threats
No threats as the entire population falls within protected areas.
Population

Three subpopulations are known, one from Visgat, another one from Grasberg and the last from the ridge above Diepkloof. Subpopulations consist of clumped stands of plants numbering between 40 and 100 plants, the Grasberg and Visgat subpopulations each have over 500 plants. The size of the Diepkloof subpopulation is unknown. Subpopulations fluctuate linked to fires but fluctuations are not extreme.
