Justification
Only small fragments of this species' habitat remains after extensive transformation for the cultivation of wheat and vineyards, and AOO<20 km². Only five of 14 known locations remain, and habitat loss to urban development, alien plant invasion and crop cultivation continues.

Threats
Agriculture and urban development are a severe threat with more than 70% of known historic localities lost in the past 80 years - 2 population extinctions have been witnessed in the past 5 years (C. Klak and D. Raimondo).
