Field observations of three subpopulations indicate that this species is locally common in suitable habitat.

Notes |
| This species was previously only known from herbarium specimens with no clear indication of the specific habitat. As some specimens were collected from lower slopes it was listed as Endangered due to habitat loss to crop cultivation on lower slopes and flats around Piketberg. However, recent field observations indicate that this species also occurs at higher altitude and prefers a rocky habitat where it is not threatened. |
