Justification
A widespread species with a distribution range from the Kamiesberg in the Northern Cape to the Kouga Mountains in the Eastern Cape. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 137 713 km² and is known from more than 20 subpopulations. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is widely scattered through the coastal mountains of the Great Cape Floristic Region. It is known from the Kamiesberg Mountains in Namaqualand to the Bokkeveld mountains to the Hottentots Holland mountains through the Breede River catchment into the Little Karoo and east to the Kouga mountains in the Eastern Cape.

Description
It occurs strictly in riparian areas along perennial streams and rivers along lower mountain slopes.
Threats
This species is found strictly in riparian areas which are threatened by alien invasive plants, especially wattles.
Population

This species is known from many subpopulations and the overall population is stable. No significant loss of subpopulations or mature individuals has been recorded.
