Justification | Torenia thouarsii is widespread in tropical Africa, but known from four locations in South Africa. It is likely to be overlooked during botanical surveys. The existing threats for the species and the habitats are unlikely to cause the populations to decline severely in the near future. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern. |

This is a rare species in South Africa, known from only a few records and restricted to north-western parts of the country. It is likely to be overlooked during botanical surveys.
