Description
Shallow soils in flat fine grit pans on exposed sandstone sheetrock.
Threats
There are no significant threats to this taxon. Large sections of Bokkeveld Sandstone Fynbos have been ploughed for rooibos tea cultivation. This taxon's specific microhabitat is however unsuited to cultivation, and the population is not suspected to have suffered any decline.
Population

This taxon occupies a highly localized area of the Bokkeveld Escarpment, but is locally extremely abundant. The population is estimated to exceed 10 000 mature individuals and is not declining.
