Justification
This taxon has a highly restricted range in ridges along the banks of the Orange River east of Goodhouse (global EOO 216 km²). The area is remote, and there are no threats.

Threats
There are no severe threats to this taxon.
Population

This rare and localized subspecies is known from four subpopulations in South Africa, and one in Namibia. The habitat is generally inaccessible and still relatively poorly explored. The population size is therefore difficult to estimate.
