Justification
This species is widespread and common in the Western Cape Province. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 53 277 km² and is not in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

The species is endemic to the Western Cape Province, South Africa, where it is widely distributed from Bains Kloof to the Cape Peninsula, extending east to Knysna.

Description
It is found on stony sandstone granite slopes, at 100-1000 m.
Threats
Habitat loss to agriculture and development continues, particularly along the coast. It is however highly unlikely that habitat loss will lead to extinction in the near future. Alien invasive plants continue to spread into some parts of this species' range.
