Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 307 226 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 452 km². It is known from many locations. While livestock farming has led to a loss and degradation of suitable habitat, it faces no other serious threats. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is relatively widespread in eastern southern Africa, extending from Hogsback in the Eastern Cape along the Great Escarpment and interior to Limpopo, as well as Lesotho and Eswatini. It has also been recorded in eastern Zimbabwe.

Description
It occurs in marshes and along streams and drainage lines.
Threats
Its habitat continues to decline due to degradation by grazing livestock, but not severely enough to be considered threatened.
