Justification | This species was described in 2007 from a remote and poorly explored part of South Africa. At present there are seven known subpopulations scattered over a wide area. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 4 147 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 36 km². Subpopulations are small and restricted to a specialized habitat, but are not threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN category of Least Concern but is nationally recognised under the category Rare. |

Description | It occurs in succulent karoo, in rocky crevices on slopes at the base of mountains. It appears to be restricted to granite, and is also found among quartzite pebbles. |

It has a widespread but scattered distribution, and appears to be restricted to a specialized habitat. There are seven known subpopulations, which are all small.
