Justification
This species is confined to the area around Nieuwoudtville, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 310 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 56 km². It is not threatened, and is listed globally as Least Concern, and nationally as Rare.

Range
This species is endemic to the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, and is restricted to the Bokkeveld Plateau in the vicinity of Nieuwoudtville in the western Karoo.

Description
It grows on rocky dolerite outcrops in karroid scrub.
Threats
While surrounding habitat has been lost to crop cultivation this species occurs in safe sites between rock cracks, where porcupines, sheep and ploughing machines are unable to access the plants. There are therefore no known threats to this species.
Population

It is known from four subpopulations. The population is stable and not declining.
