Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of <100 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². Plants are found on three small, isolated fragments, which continue to decline due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation. It is therefore listed as Critically Endangered under criteria B.

It is endemic to South Africa, and is known only from flats at the foot of the Piketberg and Porterville Mountains in the Western Cape.

Description
It occurs on stony sandstone ground in transitional fynbos-renosterveld.
Threats
Agricultural expansion has severely reduced the available habitat of this species, and only a few fragments remain. Further loss to crop fields continues. Habitat fragments continue to be degraded due to a lack of fire, alien plant invasion and heavy grazing.
Population

This species has lost 90% of its habitat to agricultural expansion, and is now extremely rare. It is known three small fragments that at 15 km apart between Piketberg, Het Kruis and Piekenierskloof Pass.
