Description | It occurs in dry fynbos and succulent karoo, occurring on mountain slopes up to 500 m elevation and flats in stony, sandstone-derived soils, often in rock crevices. |

| This species has lost 31% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) from agriculture and livestock, however, there are still many extant subpopulations and many occur in habitats that are not possible to plough. |
