Range | This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found in the Western Cape Province from the Gifberg and Heerenlogement Mountain in the north to Elandskloof and Piekenierskloof in the south. |

Description | It occurs in dry fynbos and succulent karoo, occurring on mountain slopes up to 500 m elevation and flats in stony, sandstone-derived soils, often in rock crevices. |

This species has lost 31% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) from agriculture and livestock, however, there are still many extant subpopulations and many occur in habitats that are not possible to plough. |
