Justification
This range restricted habitat specialist has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is known from two sites in an extremely limited range in the Koue Bokkeveld. It occurs on high altitude sandstone slopes where it is not threatened. It is therefore listed globally as Least Concern and nationally, as Rare.

It is endemic to Western Cape province of South Africa, and is restricted to the upper slopes of Hexberg in upper Elandskloof in the Cold Bokkeveld Mountains.

Description
It occurs on stony, south and east facing, sandstone slopes.
Threats
This species has no threats.
Population

The species is known from three herbarium collections from two subpopulations. All collections were made between 1984 and 1985, there has been no recent recording of this species, however since it is a montane species and its habitat is intact the population is inferred to be stable.
