Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 249 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 40 km². It is confined to the Piketberg Mountains, and is known from five locations, which are potentially threatened by habitat loss to crop cultivation and alien plant invasion. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criteria D.

Description
It occurs on stony, sandstone slopes in low fynbos, and is especially abundant after fire.
Threats
This species has lost 15% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). It is potentially threatened by expanding agriculture (orchards), dam construction and the spread of invasive alien plants. Habitat has been lost in the past to crop cultivation.
Population

It is locally relatively common, and is especially abundant in recently burnt veld.
