Justification
This is a rare and very localized habitat specialist with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 416 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from four subpopulations which occur in protected high altitude habitat where it is not threatened. It is therefore listed globally under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

It is endemic to the Western Cape province of South Africa, and is found in the northern Cederberg and northern Koue Bokkeveld mountains.

Description
It occurs at high elevations, on thin soils over damp ledges and crevices on upper sandstone slopes and cliffs, mostly on south-facing slopes.

This species has no threats.

The population has a stable trend and is not in danger of extinction. It is known from four subpopulations.
