Justification
This rare habitat specialist occurs in arid mountain ranges and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 510 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from four subpopulations and is not threatened. It is therefore listed globally under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

It is endemic to Western Cape province of South Africa, where it is restricted to the Great Swartberg and Kammanassie Mountains.

Description
It occurs in wet sites on cliffs, streambanks and waterfalls.
Threats
There are no significant threats to this species, invasive aliens pose a slight future potential threat.

The population has a stable trend and is not in danger of extinction. It is known from four subpopulations.
