Justification
This is a localised but extremely abundant species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1695 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 32 km². It is known from eight subpopulations, and is not declining. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It is restricted to the southern Roggeveld and Klein Roggeveld in the Northern Cape and adjacent Western Cape province of South Africa.

Description
It occurs most often on south-facing slopes or on flat ground and grows in shale soils.
Threats
This species has no significant threats.
Population

It is known from eight subpopulations, and has a stable trend. It is locally extremely abundant. In years of good rains, flowering subpopulations can stretch for several kilometres.
