This is a range-restricted habitat specialist with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 74 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 16 km². The population is stable with no recorded threats. Therefore, it is listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria as Least Concern but is nationally categorized as Rare.

It occurs in moist, peaty pockets among sandstone rocks on steep, southwest-facing slopes, flowering well after fire.
Threats
This species has no threats.
Population

The population has a stable trend. It is very rare and is only known from four subpopulations. A handful of as yet undiscovered subpopulations are likely to exist.
