Justification
This is a widespread and locally common species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 13 474 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 296 km². It occurs in montane habitats that are not threatened, and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It extends through the interior mountains of the western half of Western Cape, South Africa, from the Gifberg in the north to Jonaskop in the Riviersonderend mountains in the south.

Description
It occurs on stony sandstone slopes, most frequent after fire.
Threats
This species has lost 37% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). However, it is not in danger of extinction.
