Justification | This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2315 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 44 km². It is known from nine locations that continue to decline due to ongoing habitat loss to rooibos tea cultivation. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B. |

Description | It occurs in stony sandstone ground, usually in seasonally moist sites, on dry montane fynbos or mountain renosterveld. |
Threats |
This species has lost 20% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). It is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to expanding rooibos tea cultivation in the Nieuwoudtville and Trawal areas. |
Population |
Subpopulations tend to be small and localized, although one collection from a protected area indicates that plants in undisturbed situations can be locally abundant. The population suspected to declining due to habitat loss.
