Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 940 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 36 km². It is not threatened as it occurs in rocky areas not suitable for cultivation. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Description
It occurs in rocky sandstone pavements, in rock crevices in fynbos.
Threats
Despite its occurrence in an area farmed for rooibos tea, its specific habitat of rock pavements is not threatened because the soils over these pavements are too shallow to be ploughed.
Population

Nine subpopulations have been recorded, but the likelihood of many more undiscovered subpopulations exists. The population trend is stable.
