Justification
This species is widespread and common, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 98 748 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 1272 km². It is able to survive disturbance, and the population has a stable trend. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
A widespread species endemic to the Western Cape province of South Africa, extending from the Cape Peninsula east to the Langeberg at Tradouw Pass and north through the Olifants River Valley as far as the Gifberg, with an isolated subpopulation in the high country west of Bitterfontein in Namaqualand.

Description
It usually occurs on sandy slopes and flats, sometimes on granitic gravel.
Threats
This species has lost habitat to agriculture, infrastructure, too frequent fires, competition from alien invasive species, mining and harvesting.
Population

The population is considered stable as despite losing habitat it is also able to survive in disturbed areas. It is known from more than 300 locations and remains common.
