Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 18 510 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 224 km². It is known from at least 80 subpopulations. It is not in danger of extinction and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species' distribution extends throughout the western half of the Western Cape province of South Africa, from the northern Cederberg at Pakhuis Pass to the Cape Peninsula and Caledon.

Description
It occurs in stony sandstone ground and loamy clay or granite-derived soil, often in seasonally wet and marshy sites.
Threats
This species lost its habitat to infrastructure development and timber plantations in the past. The habitat continues to decline due to the invasion of alien plants, grazing livestock, and inappropriate fires. However, it is still common and not in danger of extinction.

The population has a stable trend and is known from at least 30 subpopulations.
