Justification
This is a range restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 199 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 104 km². It is endemic to the Cape Peninsula. Historically, some subpopulations have been lost to urban expansion on the Cape Flats. Remaining subpopulations are protected within the Table Mountain National Park and are not declining. It is therefore listed globally as Least Concern, and nationally, as Rare.

Description
It occurs on stony, sandstone soils on slopes and flats from Silvermine Plateau to Cape Point, blooming mainly after fire.
Threats
This species has lost 10% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) to urban expansion in the past, but is not currently threatened.
Population

The population has declined in the past but is currently stable and is not in danger of extinction.
