Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 18 130 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 96 km². It is known from at least 15 subpopulations. It is not threatened and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
An endemic to South Africa, extending from near Calitzdorp in the Little Karoo in the Western Cape province, east through the Long Kloof and Baviaanskloof to the Great Winterhoek Mountains near Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape province.

Description
It occurs mainly on stony sandstone slopes in dry fynbos vegetation, flowering mainly after fire.
Threats
There are low levels of habitat degradation as a result of competition from invasive alien species and too frequent fires. These pressures impact the subpopulations in the western portion of the range, the vast majority of subpopulations are not subject to any severe threats.
