Justification | This species is widespread and common in its habitat, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 12 584 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 196 km². It is known from more than 50 subpopulations and is not in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern. |

This species is abundant after fire, it is known from more than 50 subpopulations. While some past decline has taken place due to loss of habitat for crop cultivation, this species is still found in many protected areas and the current population trend is stable.
