Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 17 050 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 128 km². It is known from at least 25 subpopulations and is not in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It is a montane species, endemic to Western Cape province of South Africa, extending from Pakhuis Pass and the Cederberg in the north to Shaw's Mountains in the Caledon District in the south.

Description
It occurs on stony sandstone slopes and plateaus, occasionally in seasonally wet sites, usually at elevations above 500 m.
Threats
This species has lost 33% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) to agriculture, however there are still many subpopulations that occur in areas with no threats.
Population

The population has a stable trend and is not in danger of extinction, as most subpopulations occur in montane habitats. It is known from at least 25 subpopulations.
