Threats |
Even though this subspecies is widespread, it has lost some of its habitat in South Africa from habitat degradation from fires and agriculture, and habitat loss through infrastructure development and mining. Harvesting (gathering) for medicine and invasive alien species are also known threats to this species. |
Population |
The population is widespread across eastern South Africa, with more than 100 locations known. The population has a stable trend, and is not threatened.
