Justification | Freesia occidentalis is widespread with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 11 451 km², and area of occupancy (AOO) of 76 km². It is found between 15 and 17 subpopulations, and is not in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern. |

Population |
It is a rarely seen species (Manning and Goldblatt 2010), but may also be overlooked as it occurs in an area that is botanically still fairly poorly explored. The population has a stable trend and is known from between 15-17 subpopulations.
