Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 92 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 24 km². It is known from five extant locations, all small fragments, as a result of habitat loss and fragmentation due to agricultural expansion. Decline is continuing. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criteria B.

Description
It occurs in renosterveld, clay slopes and flats.
Threats
Lowland renosterveld in the river valleys between Worcester and Villiersdorp is already more than 65% transformed for crop cultivation (vineyards and fruit orchards) and the loss is ongoing. It has lost 28% of its total habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). All collections of this species are from small fragments and road verges.
Population

It was known from just two or three subpopulations (Manning and Goldblatt, 2010). Recently, between four locations have been recorded, with the most recent observations between 2008 and 2018 listed on iNaturalist. The population is known to have at least 1000 individuals, with an overall decreasing trend.
