A localized species (EOO 14 km²), known from two locations and potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants.

Description
Short, grassy fynbos on steep, moist, south-facing slopes, 1500 m.
Threats
The lower south-facing slopes of the Riviersonderend Mountains are densely infested with alien invasive pines escaping from timber plantations, and are steadily spreading upwards. At one known location, scattered pine trees are already present within 1 km of the subpopulation, and could potentially outcompete individuals if left unmanaged. A second subpopulation, about 12 km away along the same mountain range, is still free from alien plants, but high density stands are present on the foot slopes below.
