Justification
Haworthiopsis sordida is a rare, range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2925 km². It occurs between 10 and 20 locations and declining due to ongoing habitat degradation. It is listed as Near Threatened under criterion B.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found from Steytlerville to Uitenhage and the Suurberg Mountains north of Kirkwood.

Description
It occurs in rocky karroid slopes.
Threats
Some subpopulations of Haworthiopsis sordida, particularly in the western part of this species' range, occur in areas degraded due to severe overgrazing (J.H. Vlok pers. comm.).
Population

A rare and seldom collected species, but may also be overlooked as plants grow sheltered among the base of shrubs. The species occurs as scattered individuals.
