Description
Sandstone and granite flats and slopes.
Threats
Habitat loss to urban and agricultural expansion has caused extensive decline across this species' range, and habitat loss continues. Subpopulations on small fragments are further subjected to ongoing habitat degradation as a result of inappropriate fire management, and competition from unmanaged alien invasive plants.
Population

The population of this widespread species has been fragmented due to habitat loss on the Cape lowlands, but many recent records indicate that it is still common. Subpopulations in montane areas are still mostly intact, and are fairly well protected.
