Justification
A range-restricted (EOO 213 km²), but locally abundant species that is not threatened. Most of its habitat is protected.

Population

Plants flower only in response to fire, and are therefore rarely seen. In the first year after fire, it is however evident that this species is abundant, as was observed on the Tradouw Pass after a wildfire in 2000 (Goldblatt and Manning 2011).
