Description
Dry washes of sandy alluvium overlaying shale.
Threats
Alluvial soils within this species' known range are cultivated in places, but agricultural expansion is slow and sporadic, as the area is dry and only marginally suitable to crop cultivation. Only one location can be determined with precision, and at this site there is no immediate threat to this species. It is however potentially threatened by habitat loss to agricultural expansion.
Population

This rare and localized species is known from only two collections along a 10 km stretch of road on the arid western fringe of the fynbos biome. More surveys are needed to determine the size and extent of the population.
