Population |
Moraea intermedia is currently known from one farm west of Springbok. Surveys of the farm by volunteers of the Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) Programme indicated that this species occurs in very low numbers: less than 100 plants were found. It is possible that plants may also occur in similar habitat elsewhere in the area around Springbok.

Population trend | Stable |
Notes |
Plants occur together with the closely related Moraea margaretae, hybrids between the two species have been observed (Goldblatt and Manning 2010). |
