Population

This species is a very rare and localized habitat specialist, and subpopulations are small: currently there are only two known subpopulations, one consisting of fewer than 10 plants on the outskirts of Vredenburg, and a second of about 30 plants near Jacobsbaai. Surveys of granite outcrops elsewhere on the Vredenburg Peninsula, especially those around Saldanha, failed to record any further subpopulations.
