Description
It occurs in lower and mid elevations on rocky sandstone slopes.
Threats
It has lost nearly 60% of its habitat to vineyards in the Breede River Valley and on the lower slopes of Paarl Mountain, and loss continues. In Du Toit's Kloof it is threatened by rapidly spreading, uncontrolled alien invasive plants.
Population

A seldom collected, but relatively common taxon (Goldblatt 1989). There has been only two records in the past 15 years, with the rest of the locations known through historical records. One location between Worcester and Wolseley was lost to vineyard expansion between 1990 and 2014.
